Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant-Reconciliations for a contract opportunity in Georgia. This role requires an individual who is adept at handling high-volume account reconciliations, data analysis, and journal entry preparation, primarily supporting various loan products and third-party servicer activities.

The position involves extensive use of Excel for data extraction, transformation, and reconciliation workflows, and strong proficiency with tools such as pivot tables and large datasets is essential.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, deadline-driven environment and enjoys working with complex data while building efficient, repeatable processes.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve and analyze settlement and remittance reports from third-party vendors.
  • Import, transform, and organize large datasets using Excel, including PowerQuery.
  • Perform high-volume account reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of internal general ledger (GL) accounts against external servicer reports.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies across financial records.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to settlements, adjustments, and monthly close.
  • Support recurring reporting processes, including weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and update documentation, procedures, and reconciliation support files.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, specifically in reconciliation, GL, or similar areas.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, working with large datasets; PowerQuery a plus) required.
  • Experience preparing and posting journal entries
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data across multiple sources
  • Loan/servicer accounting and financial services experience preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., Prologue, BlackLine, or similar) is a plus

Required Work Hours

Monday through Friday, full-time position.

The salary for this position ranges from $26 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
